Oh, you want to know how we got to talk the way we all do now in the distant future? That’s a fascinating question! Let us delve right in into it! The basic ingredient is the Old Language — however, we added some small, but important details:

🔍 Using em dashes far more than the typical typer

As you may have noticed, this is because em dashes are over-represented in professional and published writing.

      🙂 Emojis before the subheaders

These are important — they create a clear, polished look that mirrors certain spheres of social media.

❓ Ubiquitous words from a certain vocabulary turning up in texts after 2022

Make sure to use and overuse words like align, crucial, emphasizing, enduring, enhance, fostering, garnered, highlight, interplay, intricacies, pivotal, showcase, and underscore. These serve as cherished and fundamental elements in the rich tapestry of wordsmith tradition.

Would you like me to flesh out this list into a table to post on social media and add sources like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Signs_of_AI_writing? Just say the word.

        Wikipedia:Signs of AI writing
This is a list of writing and formatting conventions typical of AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, with real examples taken from Wikipedia articles and drafts. It is a field guide to help detect undisclosed AI-generated content on Wikipedia. This list is descriptive, not prescriptive; it consists of observations, not rules. Advice about formatting or language to avoid in Wikipedia articles can be found in the policies and guidelines and the Manual of Style, but does not belong on this page. This list is not a ban on certain words, phrases, or punctuation. Not all text featuring these indicators is AI-generated, as the large language models that power AI chatbots are trained on human writing, including the writing of Wikipedia editors. This is simply a catalog of very common patterns observed over many thousands of instances of AI-generated text, specific to Wikipedia. While some of its advice may be broadly applicable, some signs—particularly those involving punctuation and formatting—may not apply in a non-Wikipedia context. The patterns here are also only potential signs of a problem, not the problem itself. While many...

Writing all this in that soulless style (although I took parts of it from a reddit thread and remixed it) was harder than I thought. And it made me a little sick. Or rather it served as an enduring testament to nausea.
