IMHO the solution for the so-called paradox of tolerance is not to be intolerant to the intolerant, but to be intolerance to intolerance. hate the sin, not the sinner, as some say. reject the intolerance, but don't dehumanize that who fell in the cognitive trap of intolerance. we ought to help them get out, not hate them back, them and everyone and everything connected to them.

@lxo the meta-paradox of tolerance is: we should not tolerate people using the paradox of tolerance as a justification for being intolerant.

@gugurumbe @lxo how do you deal with things like minority groups having intolerant belief systems like islam, there seems to be tension to ignore the intolerance. my city now has sex-segregated worship services which is a revolting regression that we shouldn't have to tolerate

I have no knowledge or opinion on this specific situation, but I'm curious about two points:
      - why is their minority status relevant? what difference would it make if the majority of the population practiced that belief that way? would it then be any more or less acceptable?
      - why does it disturb you that different demographic groups get to attend different worship services, in their practices? is there any harm in that? would it make a difference for you if they partitioned their worship services by age ranges, by marital status, by offspring-having, by (claiming to) holding certain variant beliefs, by how often they attend the service, by which language/s they speak or learn? does it also disturb you that different genders are segregated to different restrooms and locker rooms, in so many cultures?

@lxo a lot of it is peer pressure/fashion/FOMO weaponized by a few beneficiaries of public opinion. So, questioning their choices just shuts discussion down. Even if you demonstrate a better alternative by living it, it gets no attention (just like the questioning).
