people should be more alarmed that a huge portion of the software that the world depends on for our daily lives is maintained for free by people who are now in their 50s/60s and there is basically no pipeline to replace them.

@peter Don't worry, there is a plan to cryogenic-ally freeze their brains, read out their knowledge and use it as a basis of a thing we're calling an AI (but isn't) which will continue to maintain the software for free in perpetuity for a hefty fee paid to the AI hosting company.

@peter Given the rapid onset of decay processes post mortem, you may be wondering how we're planning to get to these precious, critical, software maintainers in time to preserve their knowledge and unique neurologies. Our existing LLMs have examined a range of options and have argued for pre-mortem knowledge preservation. We're calling this scraping as it is clearly distinct from theft-of-life (sometimes anachronistically known as murder).
