    @gvlx
    And moreover, I'd argue bugs should be cataloged and kept open, even if nobody is working on fixing them:

    - it helps other users experiencing the same bug find out that it's not their fault and they're hitting a know issue

    - it creates a place for users to exchange information about workarounds

    If the number of open bugs is making it difficult for devs to decide what to work on, then they should have a task list that's separate from the defect database.

      @gvlx just checked out the vanilla icecream story and it's a great example!

      And yeah, I agree, bugs should be reported.

      @wolf480pl Bugs are bugs, and should be reported.

      Most of the time, the report is misleading and unhelpful.

      But it exists, even when the programmer cannot replicate it.

      For further analysis, look for the case of the car that didn't like vanilla ice cream.

      Linux Mint Troubleshooting Guide doesn't seem to know the difference between bugs reports and tasks

      > Bug reports are only valuable when they lead to a bug fix or an improvement.
      > The reason we report bugs is not to document or catalog anything that is wrong with the software
