I use "analog" stuff all the time in sound design, sounds good, but it's not magic or anything. I think people like it for a vintage sound on certain types of music, but you can use it to make EDM with a clean sound and the listener can't tell the difference. It's all just a gimmick. It's just more noticeable on guitars and vocals, but not necessarily different from digital tools. I think the hardware analog stuff does actually do interesting things but in the software world its a marketing play.

Analog, "warm", "color" are just sound marketing buzzwords. It's all digital. Just saturation and manipulating frequency bands.
