The thing about Bookchin's critique of “lifestylism” is that it's primarily a critique of how the peripherality problem manifests as counterculture and small mutual aid. The thing is though, Bookchin fundamentally was still unable to resolve the problem of peripherality.
For me, Bookchin clearly understood the necessity for solving the peripherality problem and occupying the centrality, his strategy being communalism, but literally only the liberal bourgeoisie was the only revolutionary force able to do so.
