Steve's PlaceTech CEOs are nearly all fascist. They are dictators in their companies. Everything they say and do is about themselves, enriching themselves, and keeping their baby making more money year-over-year infinitely - an impossibility. Allowing them to craft government policy will result in a fascist dictatorship.
No poor citizens are getting golden parachutes or golden handcuffs. People will starve, and people will die. Tech CEOs might find that amusing until the day it affects their infinite profits fantasy.
None of them exhibit empathy, but they can be blackmailed. America's barely conscious voters let the unconstitutional and trashy 2-party system they trusted mint gangster kings and princes to crush those same voters who imagine they are sticking it to each other.
