Americans would be making comparisons to the Ceausescu's palace of the people when talking about the ballroom

but we don't know anything at all about history in the late modern period

so best we can do it show it side by side to pictures of other ballrooms in russian state buildings

which Im pretty sure most ballrooms regardless if they are in russia or elsewhere generally look like a box with some chandeliers
