     I suspect "maintaining something like a Starlink constellation" might not be an optimal design goal for solving the problem. Like, we aren't building the equivalent of the cybertruck or hyperloop either.

     @Infoseepage @petealexharris No, you need one COMPETENT launch partner. Right now, the only one on the planet who are competent to do it fast, cheap, and good, is SpaceX. China's trying to breed a rival, Europe needs one too.

     (Roscosmos is dying by inches. Arianespace and ULA are Old Space, so good but neither fast nor cheap.)
