The government trying to overrule the police and overturn the ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans attending their upcoming match against Aston Villa, is not only a grotesque overreach when it comes to policing.

But it's also one of the most dishonest and blatant attempts at conflating antisemitism with criticising the behaviour of Israelis that they've pulled off to date.
