   News has just come in that a Palestinian boy from the West Bank, the same age as Greta, has died in Israeli custody.

     Also, having lived there, this “Swedish neutrality” doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.

     Neutrality is seeing one person repeatedly kicking another on the ground and saying “there is fault on both sides, I will not get involved”.

     Humanity is taking the side of the oppressed every time. Humanity is the willful abandonment of neutrality in favour of justice.

     On top of that, the whole protest was absolutely irrelevant and was nothing more than an event that had been brought from social media to the streets. Neither politics nor the wish of Israelis and Palestinians to annihilate each other since 1947 could be changed.

     Others concluded a peace treaty. That may or may not last.

     @aral the section “Nine critical questions for Greta Thunberg” has this quite important part (imo)
