   I got an interesting spam, if anyone would like to dive in and figure out what on earth they're actually up to – since if it were *actually* just an open source local model with no tracking, they wouldn't be advertising it by unsolicited email.

   note that my email address does not have "0xabad1dea" in it, so they clearly got my email from one of a relatively small handful of sites where that's listed as my personal name.

     @grumpybozo right, but, again... if it were that straight-up and honest, **they wouldn't be advertising it by unsolicited email**

     @0xabad1dea I read it as saying that it runs open source models, not that it is itself open source, but in any case, there's nothing that prevents developers of open source software from charging for it, particularly when the platform allows only limited user control of software installation (e.g. iOS)
