The block button is a wonderful invention, but apparently the blocked person’s content stays attached to your posts on both Mastodon and Bluesky. I understand the technical reasons for this, but wouldn’t it be great to add a tag to their inane comments: “This individual is a turd and has been blocked by the person who started this thread.” Maybe a feature request for Mastodon?

@slim @ricmac we have a collection of replies on every object. When you block someone, their replies should be removed from that collection on all your objects. Mastodon doesn't do this; it should. Older versions of Mastodon don't read the replies collection to show you replies. It's a new feature.

@ricmac it would be nice to give a toot as a reason for blocking. Then a user could list of all the reasons the person was blocked for before following him @evan
