   Apparently theres a new wave of people joining mastodon, and with them a new wave of self-appointed cops "welcoming" them with long lists of mostly fictitious "rules" they need to follow.

   This is a social media platform, with many of different ways to use it. It's fine. Mostly, just try to be decent to other people, just like you should try to be everywhere else.

     @mattblaze The only rules I've ever really seen necessary out here are basically "be kind and welcoming to the stranger."
