   The one sure way to stop most telemarketers is to ratchet the talk up to 100 right off the bat. I have less than 0 patience for that shit. Rarely ever do I get a 2nd call from any of them anymore and it's worth it.

   For the record: I rarely answer an unknown number unless I'm waiting for a call... which infuriates me even more as those are the cases in which they're really wasting my time.

     @chris I kept getting a call from NYC, almost daily for a few weeks and they would never leave a message. I finally answered simply to tell them to f off.

     @dustinrue Heh. This was IHG hotels. I've mistakenly answered it from them twice now. The first time I was, stupidly, nice in telling them to lost my number. This time I went to a script with few words that weren't 4 letters and insults. Hopefully they'll get the message this time.

     I hate having to do it but getting myself blacklisted in these lists seems to be the only thing that ever works.
