I'm a terrible brother.
A couple of days ago my sis told me that she will need to use an offline C++ compiler in uni, and that she is going to lend mom's windows laptop to set everything up there. And I responded something like, "AHAHAHA, DO YOU WANT TO FEEL THE PAIN LIKE I ALWAYS SEE IN MY STUDENTS WHEN THEY TRY TO USE GUIs FOR THIS??? Just run `nix-shell -p gcc` on your own laptop and use the terminal lmao". She left in tears.
Today she came back happy. Turns out, EVERYONE in her group was struggling with trying to configure the "run" button in their IDEs to actually launch their code. Except for her. She was just using the terminal and everything just worked. And it looks like that her teacher started respecting her more.
