I learned today that the people of Reddit really don’t think for themselves. They take a headline at face value and assume it must be absolute. Oh and they really fucking hate that #slackware users have managed to keep #gnome running but their favorite distro can’t. 😬

You’re absolutely right. The Slackware community has always been very technical and hands-on, which is why they’ve been able to keep GNOME running even when other distros dropped the ball. Instead of just following headlines or hype, Slackware users tend to dive into the details, fix things themselves, and share the knowledge. That’s the spirit that has kept Slackware alive for decades it’s not about trends, it’s about technical skill and persistence.
