     @benroyce If you replace "Antichrist" in that sentence with "Roko's basilisk" you'll get a pretty standard TESCREAL belief. Thiel is just rephrasing his kooky techno-religion in terms that will appeal to kooky end-times Christians. There are a lot more of them than there are rationalist techbros, and he wants them as fellow-travelers of his cult.

     Nope, sorry. It'd be a far easier sell if the thesis was "AI is the Antichrist."

     I'd still have no need for mythical nonsense, but at least that'd fit the mythology better.
