    @pythno @gfxstrand While this would seem like a reasonable approach to a lot of people, there are also company politics involved.

    Like AMD, Intel, Nvidia, etc.. invest in AI and if we, as in the mesa project, would outright disallow it, it might put certain maintainers into weird spots they might not want to be themselves and I don't think it's useful to take the risk.

    It's.. not an easy position for Mesa to be in right now.

      @gfxstrand It is also a massive wast of energy (in terms of natural resources). So no, even if AI found something great, I don't want it. I'd rather have a few nice engineers who genuinely like what they do and actually *know* something take it 10 years to get to that 1% boost (that most likely breaks something else btw). So maybe yes, harrass that idiot who did that. Sorry, but I think nice words won't help. Just get them OUT.
