   is this happening to other people: my insurance is declining prescriptions for generic medications which, for decades, they forced me to use.

   my pharmacist called incredibly confused because the insurance is declining payment for what they enforced for ages. now the insurance company is demanding my doctors re-issue the Rx for the brand name medication.

   what the hell is going on?!?!?

     @blogdiva TARIFFS. Tariffs are what is happening.

     More than half of all generics are made in India, and all pharmaceuticals are now subject to a 50%+ tariff (or maybe not! Nobody knows!) Some manufacturers have drastically increased prices to the US or just refuse to ship in retaliation as well. This has completely fucked up the pricing *and* supply.

     No. None of them are even considering opening US plants.
