   What I really dislike about my home country is the small-mindedness of default people towards others who 'step out of line'. It's always 'do this, or else'. 'Who are you to say ____'. 'Who do you think you are'. 'Shut up and sit down'.

   After being away for so long, it feels strange to encounter it again in the wild. People like that are like a different species I'd like to observe from afar. How did they get like that? What caused it? How can we prevent it from happening in others?

     i post this, as i peruse a reddit post in which some singaporeans have decided to report me to ICE, to show me that America is not as a good as Singapore, because i said that i wasn't planning to come back any time soon. that will show me. i will be desperately wanting to go back to a society like that because they did that, surely.

     @irfan not even remotely the worse thing that very online chinese singaporean men have done to me.

     one time, i wrote an article about why we should not be xenophobic and 600 of them posted angry comments saying that i was a sarong party girl who likes foreign dick. i then pointed out that i didn't like any dick, and then they said my hair was too long and i could not be trusted to actually have a real opinion.

     luckily, i have a fairly high self-esteem.

     It occurred to me that when I complained about Singapore while living there, people like that told me to leave if I didn’t like it. And then I left, and they’re complaining about me leaving.
