    Ok I can’t figure this out coz I don’t know this coast.

    I need to go to Kingston, NY, then DC, then Boston. I’d like to do all trains if I can but it feels inefficient. Maybe I can fly DC or Boston.

    Can people who know the east coast and travel options help me figure out the best ways to travel??

      @artcollisions I think I’m unsure if there is a train from Kingston to DC

      @skinnylatte Is expense an issue. I cannot tell you how much I prefer the train to air travel between DC and NY. Boston is far enough away it probably makes sense to fly.

      @skinnylatte The Amtrak trains from DC to Boston are a long day (~8 hours I think?), but we've done it and it's fine if you have the time. There's two options: Northeast Regional, and Acela. The latter is an hour (hour and a half?) faster, but more expensive. The earlier you book, the cheaper it'll be.

      Ok I have decided to solve this by cutting out Kingston and DC this trip. I’m sad to not see some folks but I just can’t make it work

      @skinnylatte
      If you’re just going NYC to Boston, then Amtrak is definitely better than flying. But don’t schedule it to arrive just in time for something; delays are common.

      There are also buses, which are usually about an hour faster than the regional train (because they go inland through Hartford instead of along the coast through Providence), comparable to the Acela but much cheaper.
