1. The front cover of the DVD version of "The Man from Planet X" (1951) in a video store spinner display. In the background looms the picture of a man-like creature with green skin wearing a spherical fishbowl helmet of some kind. At the left of the frame a worried-looking man looks over his left shoulder towards the camera, in the direction of the green creature and the curious-looking couple below and in front in the bottom left corner of the cover. The top of the cover features the text: "MGM Presents" / "Midnite [sic] Movies" / Robert Clark, Margaret Field, William Schallert", then in yellow lettering stretched above the green creature: "The Man From Planet X". At the bottom in yellow text runs the subheading: "The WEIRDEST Visitor The Earth Has Ever Seen". A red plastic octagon velcro'd to the bottom of the frame displays the call tag "3959 SCI".

2. The rear of the DVD case in the video store display spinner including this text: One day a new planet shows up in our solar system, and the next, strange invaders are rocketing to Earth. It's enough to send humans into a panic... and it does! In this very early space invasion sci-fi flick, aliens from outer space and fear from beyond our galaxy strike terror into the hearts of mankind! On the coast of Scotland, where there is enough fog to hide an alien landing, an astronomer discovers that one has actually occurred. But it's soon realized that the creature, the "Man from Planet X," has definite plans - not for friendship, but for domination - unleashing a kind of "out-of-this-world" havoc the villagers have never seen! Fun Facts: ⭐ The alien can only communicate using modulated musical sounds, a concept used three decades later in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. ⭐ To save money, the director shot the entire movie on the old Ingrid Bergman Joan of Arc set, using fog to change moods and locations. ⭐ This film was part of a burgeoning genre. Invaders from Mars, War of the Worlds and The Thing all began production around the time this picture was made.
