   I don’t like American hot sauce (too much vinegar) so my friend buys me hot sauce every time she goes home to Mexico.

     I also don’t need my hot sauce to be extremely spicy, it does need to be very tasty.

     Which most American hot sauce, by virtue of it being mostly vinegar-forward, is not tasty to me.

     @msfjarvis there are some Asian cultures that veer more sour (Filipino, NE India..) but even then I think their vinegar use is for a little balance, not for ‘shelf stability pretending to be a flavor’

     @skinnylatte I don't get the vinegar fascination either, I bought Tabasco one time because I kept hearing so much about it from American friends and it's just plain disgusting to me. Maybe it's just the Asian palate that doesn't agree with it 🤷

     @skinnylatte; Trader Joe's has a vegan Dynamite sauce that's actually not half bad. I like to mix it about 50/50 with their miso. Or about 50/59 of their miso with a strong Dijon mustard, a little bit of soy sauce and a little furikake makes a pretty yummy hot sauce too.

     @skinnylatte yeh, it's my gripe with Huy Fong. Pantai is so much better for sri racha, but also has so many better, sweeter sauces. Their chilli garlic sauce is awesome, as is their sweet chilli for chicken (on some Thai fried chicken) 🤤
