Tbh, I think a LOT of criticisms I've seen and heard boil down to, "I was already determined to be against this film, therefore, nothing would've pleased me" instead of taking it for what it is. That, or, "It's different, therefore, bad". Not good lenses to critique something through.

Sure, there's a few she struggled with, but I really thought she was a standout in the film. Idc if people think I'm crazy for that. I think y'all had just determined beforehand you weren't going to like her.

Just finished watching the live-action HTTYD and yeah, it was good. Definitely not a masterpiece like the original, but definitely good. Started off shaky but got better as it went on. Nick Frost sucked as Gobber, though. Gabriel Howell as Snotlout was a standout. I really don't understand the criticism of Astrid that everyone seems to have, though, which is that she has little to no emotion and doesn't deliver the lines well.
