I've been slowly amassing an old-school stereo from thrift shops. A cassette deck was first (couldn't pass on the VU meter needles), then a DVD player with good audio reviews, then a reasonable but tiny set of bookshelf speakers. Last weekend I finally scored a receiver I think I can live with (for $12 USD). Now I just need to sift through the garage to find my RCA patch cables and see if I still have speaker wire.
