There are few things more annoying than the fact, that you aren't supposed to say why you actually want a job. You have to make up some absolute bullshit about the company vision and work environment, instead of just saying you need money, and they need employees.

I was once contacted by a recruiter, and being finally fed up with my employer at the time, I agreed to a meeting. My future boss's boss asked me right off the bat why I wanted to join their company. I looked him dead in the eye and said, "You called me."
They did offer the job, and I did take it, but it didn't last and I've been self employed for almost 20 years now. I could have made a ton more money if I'd stuck it out but I prefer not to deal with corporate bullshit.
