   The jews in Visigothic Spain called upon the North African Muslims to invade Iberia when a throne dispute had erupted. Once the Moors reached Toledo, the largest stronghold in the heart of Iberia, the jews within the city threw open the gates to allow the Muslims a quick entry, dooming the Visigothic war effort. All of the Iberian peninsula fell to Muslim rule. Except for a small territory in the Northern mountains of Iberia, defended by only 300 Christian men.
   
   At the end of the 8th century there were 100-200 thousand Christians living in Asturias, while there were 3-5 million Muslims living in Al-Andalus. Despite the hopelessness of the situation, the Christians fought on for seven hundred years until finally, their land was theirs again. We face a far greater challenge today. Left with no choice, we will either find a way to surpass our ancestors or we will die trying.
