     @LukeAlmighty the fundamental underlying goal is to distance themselves from being female because being a masculine or butch woman in society is an exhausting and traumatic experience. They believe that they will be treated the same as men if they pass as men in society.
     
     it's trickier depending on whether or not the FtM was previously apart of the lesbian community, but from what my trans friends have told me, most lesbians do not want to be with a woman who wants to be a man.

     @LukeAlmighty it's not just about being a "tomboy", there are degrees of masculinity that women can present as before it becomes considered socially unacceptable. Try being a feminine man and see how people treat you.

     I am really sorry you cannot take the question seriously. I asked you about the male experience, and you still had to go with "but what about muh women".

     There are 2 sides to the transition, and believe it or not, men have problems too. But if you don't believe that, then I guess that fully covers the question.
