   @badnetmask OTOH "built by DHH" may be seen by many as a good reason to avoid it, so it's probably good that it's mentioned early on. I might be intrigued if a distribution was built by someone who'd been involved with other distros, though.

     @badnetmask yes agreed. Why would “this guy made it” be interesting enough to be a selling point?

     (I feel like maybe the very fact that he’s built his own distro suggests his opinions on distros can be dismissed, if nothing else. Feels ego-driven.)

     @jzb @badnetmask why would it be a good thing to allow people to avoid it because it’s made by DHH?
     However despicable DHH may be, the distribution is a technical artifact which is totally orthogonal to DHH’s values.
     If the wheel had been invented by Nazis we would not refuse to adopt it.
     I understand avoiding to mention DHH but if the distribution serves one’s needs then they should use it regardless of whomever built it.

     I have absolutely no opinion about DHH, or the distro itself. My personal opinion is simply about the media and the bloggers/vloggers using his name to justify the distro adoption by the masses. Please, feel free to use whatever Linux distro suits you best (or even a different OS, if that's what you prefer).
