   so i had a 3d printer and still help people 3d print stuff for so long, but it was only today that i learned that pla plastic comes from corn. now thinking back to why i sold my 3d printer, i didn't use it enough, but a big part of it was that i didn't want to make a bunch of plastic stuff in the world that wouldn't degrade, but then i learned that pla plastic is not just industry-compostable, but the actual best way to get rid of excess pla plastic is to just burn it, and not only that, it's exceptionally recycleable if i didn't want to burn it. so now maybe i should get a 3d printer now that i realized that pla plastic is actually not horrible for the environment...

     like yeah pla plastic might be around for thousands of years if it's just tossed in a landfill but that's a tiny amount of time in the grand scheme of things, and any animal that can break down lactic acid can break it down easy enough. we should just make all plastic to be pla plastic honestly

     @shibao PLA is nice that way. But the performance isn't there. We have completely switched to Nylon.
