Fwiw, my USB Logitech track balls do the same thing, but they are 29 years old so I'm grateful they work at all.
You might get better wireless performance if you use their proprietary dongle vs BT.

My mouse is gaslighting me.
It's a wired/wireless combo mouse. If I use it wirelessly, it'll occasionally skip due to interference, as all wireless mouse do. If I plug it in, it sometimes (like, once every 3-4 days) spontaneously unplugs itself. It does this while I'm actively using it, which is annoying for obvious reasons. I installed an app that notifies me whenever any USB devices are connected or disconnected, so I now know that sometimes it unplugs itself in the middle of the night too.
