Just had my first ride home from the airport with Colorado Drivers Cooperative. Cheaper than Uber/Lyft and pays the drivers more. If you're around here, get on it!
@robin Oh, wow—I thought they were using ATProto, but it has been a while. Interesting. I was just pointed to this by someone else today. Does it seem to have legs?
@ntnsndr Ah, sorry, I thought we'd talked about that at some point! It's https://becknprotocol.io/, it's a general commercial transaction protocol. It makes it possible to operate open, governed marketplaces. It's being used for ridehailing e.g. with https://nammayatri.in/.
@ntnsndr There are interesting potential bridges between AT and Beckn, but I don't think that you could just go and use AT for ride-hailing or food delivery just yet.
I think it has legs! I'm probably going to do some work on it.
There might be a taxi coop/Beckn thing happening in the Netherlands, will tell you if I hear more.
