Bold move by Valve to put out a public statement to the tune of "nah Mastercard is fucking lying, actually," bravo https://www.gamedeveloper.com/business/valve-pushes-back-after-mastercard-denies-quashing-adult-content-on-game-platforms

Valve pushes back after Mastercard denies quashing adult content on game platforms
Mastercard said it has not 'evaluated any game or required restrictions of any activity on game creator sites and platforms,' but Valve begs to differ.

@lritter @eniko I would be surprised if after this valve isn't looking to decrease it's reliance on these payment processors just like they did with Microsoft.

@eniko valve is privately owned and has a big war chest so they can say what they like without worrying about shareholders.

It's also not very easy for them to just change payment processors either. Most company don't store credit card numbers. They get a token from the processor that is stored in case they ever get compromised, so switching a provider would removed all the "saved" credit cards on peoples' accounts.

(I never save cards anywhere. I literally retype my number ever time. Great way to buy less and think about if you really want something. Only Etsy doesn't allow you to, so you have to go into your account and delete the card every time. I fucking hate Etsy).
