   The tower fan in our bedroom was very noisy so i used the only thing I had to hand to lubricate the bearings. Chery flavoured sex lube worked perfectly and made the room smell nice. I have also used it to fix the boiler now too.

     @fesshole yeah, I'm sure that water based lubricant is going to solve all your long term problems.
