Makes me think of this really old comic for some reason.
The comic sorta works two ways too. The guy could really have a woman locked in his closet, or his wife is free, but this is her perception of their relationship.

@sickburnbro he’s hit the nail on the head. they want to feel like their agency is gone or like they are owned. it manifests sometimes in the fatherless ones with the way they want to call their partners “daddy”.
being kidnapped, chased through the woods, held down, choked, etc.
More guys could keep their women much happier with just a little extra aggression in the right places.

They don't want to have make choices so they can't be held responsible for anything. I remember being shocked to realize that "Where do you want to eat?" was the actual question they were asking.
