     For ext4 there used to be an undelete utility that worked well if acted on immediately, I expect more advanced file systems to be even better at it.
     The data is usually still there, it just marks the blocks as free — unless it's some "secure" file system with paranoid settings of course 😅

     You have to have very little free space to get this unlucky — but yes, technically possible and I think it had happened to me once, long time ago 😅
