   #Introduction of sort again. I'm an immigrant daughter of immigrants. My parents migrated into Tokyo and I migrated out of Tokyo to the US. #Migration must be in my genes. This means that I grew up away from my grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. Vigo (Galicia, Spain) has been the only place in the whole world where I can bump into someone in my extended family. I'm curious about why some people leave and others stay. It's a bit like Goodhart's anywheres and somewheres but not exactly.

     @gabriandre yes, I'm loving the Galician network here on Mastodon! I'd love to connect with interesting gallegos. Lo siento pero sólo hablo el castellano. Cuando vivía en #Vigo de pequeña, el gallego sólo se usaba en las aldeas. Soy de la generación de los que éramos niños durante la transición, y no he tenido clases de gallego. Mi abuelo, un maestro de escuela, no hablaba en gallego ni mis tíos...

     @JapanProf Good afternoon/morning from #AGuarda, #Galicia. I'm loving Mastodon because it's showing me interesting people like you, not only cryptowanabes, as Twitter does. I'm very intested in Galician migrations and, when I saw you surname Estévez, I inmediatly though you had Galician parents or grandparents. I'm curious about how your parents migrated to Japan, as I suppose this wasn't so common. Do you speak or understand Galician? Thank you!

     @simondoubleday my husband migrated from Wales ??????? to the US, and loves it in Vigo. The ideal situation would be to teach online from Vigo! (Well, I must confess we are both total italophiles. My Galician family teases me about it.)
