     for the record it definitely really does look like that, the map isn't wrong at all. so, just the Dutch again

     @kevinrns you’re looking at a swath of land that was first stripped for peat and later mined for sand, now intentionally cultivated as a lake. The bridges are hence not actually constructed bridges, but roads that were left in place as the ground was mined out around them.
