It's still possible that this is an art of war tactic to make them think they have won, but we'll see. Everyone was convinced that we were going to be going into another war in the Middle East and there was going to be a draft and stuff and then that didn't happen. So it's probably worth holding out some hope at least.
@mitchconner@Terry The shadow war is something he already lost. Trump probably got a manilla envelope with a picture of JFK's smiling face delivered to him when he said he wasn't going to assist Israel with Iran.
@mitchconner@Terry I'm no doomposter. There's a fine line between hoping for a long shot and putting trust in it. There's a difference between hope and cope.
@mitchconner@BowsacNoodle@Terry realistically tho my stance has went from "maybe" to "no there's no political solution we won't vote our way out of this, time for bullets, so i'll be here when you guys are ready for that"
Assuming everything is as it seems that's an appropriate reaction. However:
“Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.” There is something incredibly important to understand, not just about battles but about life in general: much of what we and other people do is based on perception. It’s not what is, but rather what we think is.
Thus, many battles are really games of deception. Each side tries to trick the other into making a mistake by showing them a different face. It is to your advantage if you can misperceive your opponent to never attack your weak points and to unknowingly run into your strong points.
Sun Tzu says:
“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.”
In this way, you foil your opponent's plans. They attempt to strike you at what they think is a weak place (because you’ve misperceived them) but turns out to be one that you can easily defend. Or when you appear strong on the surface they avoid attacking you altogether because they think they’ll lose (but really it’s a weak point that you’re hiding).
Be aware of these surface-level interpretations. Understand how people think and use that to your advantage by presenting a face that is in your favour
@mitchconner@reallyangry@BowsacNoodle@Terry It'd be a pleasant surprise, if this was some weird feint move. But why don't we just start arresting the people that we know raped children? Are we so cooked, as a society, that we need battlefield tactics to punish child-raping jews?
@KK954@mitchconner@Terry I HOPE HE IS RIGHT. I would absolutely LOVE to see some kind of thunderous takedown of corruption. Even a half baked attempt that's only marginally successful to show these people they can't get away with this stuff in this life forever. I would love to see that. I never saw Trump as some kind of great white hope, but just as a likely better alternative than 3️⃣ Kamala.
