@georgetakei It did get one thing wrong: that AI supposedly decided humanity had to go, whereas in reality the AI will just enter the launch codes because someone prompted it for a recipe for soup.

The unrealistic part of the Terminator franchise is 'Skynet became sentient'. Replace that with 'Skynet hallucinated that everyone was the enemy' and you've got a 100% plausible premise.
