     @Inginsub I honestly haven't really looks at that site much in almost 10 years or so (back when youtube lets play channels were still big and hadn't been subsumed by streamers yet). Looking around it just now I was surprised to see they sell games now as well because I think it used to just be free stuff back the last time I looked at it.

     @icst deckbuilders are the worst though, if you saw one you saw all of them, it's the only genre with less originality than minecraft clones and creepypasta games. i know they used to say the same about first person shooters (doom clones), but there was always some technical progress and improved level design and whatever. the average deckbuilder is about as fun as a solitaire, except it's less engaging than freecell or pretty much any solitaire game made by zachtronics.

     @Inginsub yeah the only deckbuilder I ever played is balotro because my brother gifted it to me on steam and from what I understand its supposed to be one of the better ones. However, I didn't play it much and it definitely does remind me of basically solitaire crossed with poker. It's the sort of thing I would only really play if I'm doing something else like watching a stream or listing to an audiobook at the same time because it feels too boring on it's own.

     @icst i think balatro got so popular because it’s fast paced and has insane card upgrade mechanics. a lot of games are trying to copy the formula, and since there’s no game design to speak of, you can shit out something like that quickly, provided you can write simple code and procure the art somehow.
