@haihappen@cstross My thing just feeds DadaDodo to anyone who hits the "secret" URL that has invisible links to it from everywhere but is also excluded by robots.txt. For someone wanting to install this kind of thing on their own who is not me, Nepenthes is probably the easier choice.
@jwz@haihappen I wish I was confident I could get it running on my 10 year old dual athlon box with an obsolete debian and 2Gb of RAM, but I am not. (Also, admin skills atrophy if not used and mine are toast at this point.)
@cstross Jamie Zawinski runs an LLM scraper honeypot, https://www.jwz.org/blog/2025/01/exterminate-all-rational-ai-scrapers/ Which he notes now serves 25% of urls as of 7 days ago. I did not look up if he explains how he implemented that honeypot, and how much manual fiddling is involved. However, he links to the random text generator he made and uses.
