@rcombs If Mastodon gGMBH has not granted a license to federated servers, and I delete the comment, and some server somewhere continues to host the content, I send a takedown to the federated server, they take it down because they have no grounds on which to continue mirroring it. Mastodon gGmbH doesn't have to do anything, everyone is happy.

@mcc @rcombs i do not think you should have a means to revoke a license to store and display your posts. i think that sending takedown requests the way you propose to here is essentially legal harassment

@rcombs If Mastodon gGmbH, in consultation with their lawyers, concludes they need a legal means of revoking the implicit or explicit license granted to federated servers, then: They could write one. They have a lawyer, apparently. Instead, at the moment, they are amending their license to grant an irrevokable license from me to Mastodon gGmbH, but not writing a means for me to revoke use by themselves or (though I don't think this part is necessary) federated servers, and that creates a problem
