It's really wild to me some of the stuff that normies don't understand at all, that we take for granted.
Like the amount of branded software that's just outdated versions of free software with a vendor's name and extra bugs slapped on it and real authorship obscured.
Encountered this in FDM #3dprinting, where there are exactly 2 real slicing engine lineages (3 currently up-to-date maintained applications) but where so many folks think you're actually supposed to use the junk the machine vendor shipped with their name on it.
