Even with a bad knee, she felt compelled to walk in the drizzly rain by herself carrying the American flag. She told me during her walk that she thought about her younger brother who was a veteran of the Vietnam war and whose life never was the same once he returned. (He’s since died after a career in the police force) and how upset he would be with what is happening in our country right now. He was also one of the first people who called me after I experienced the 9/11 attacks in NYC. Telling me that I now know what it’s like to be in a terrorist attack and that I was a survivor. It seems we are all survivors in one way or another. Let’s love one another. Help one another. Not tear each other apart. #nokings We ❤️ our country! #philadephia UPDATE: my aunt and I are so moved by your comments.
