   "Important for US activists to understand that laws cannot protect you.

   Armed soldiers are on the streets. They are violently arresting judges and mayors and US Senators.

   They are kidnapping people from churches, elementary schools, and hospitals.

   Your only protection today is anonymity, opsec."

     "Even experienced activists must adjust their risk models.

     'Sure I might get arrested but they'll be forced to drop the charges, because what I'm doing is First Amendment protected activity.'

     None of that matters. Your notoriety and standing in the community is no protection.

     "I shouldn't say that your ONLY protection is anonymity and opsec. Community is a protection. Solidarity is a protection.

     But the time of people getting mass-arrested to prove a point is over.

     Time to start thinking about which legal, above-ground activities should happen more behind the scenes."

     "This is a time to be building movements, not hiding. Not going underground.

     But take a close look at your weak points. Re-examine your assumptions that drive your contingency planning.

     What are your single points of failure in your fundraising, your communications strategy, your logistics, etc."

     "If your personal opsec isn't buttoned up, understand that YOU are a weak link in every group that you organize with.

     No more excuses for a lack of basic opsec and cybersecurity. Not caring about this doesn't make you brave, it makes you a threat.

     The state will use you to map out the movement."
