I've been an internet user since 1992, a developer since 1996, and a professional internet researcher since 1997. AMA.

Martin Gardner once said that the best way to learn about a subject was to see what people get wrong about it. So:

What do people get wrong about you?

[If that's too personal, what is the thing in your field that people are most wrong about now?]

As someone who used to participate in the internet gopher hunt, who remembers browsing the Vatican within days of NCSA Mosaic being released, and whose email address is still @ panix.com after 33 years, I'd love to hear you say more about that

@kims That's a great question. I'd say that, for those of us of a certain age, much of our impact and history is under-evaluated because it predates Google. I think we've developed a kind of cultural blindness about the late 20th Century in general, especially things that weren't documented by syndicated television or cinema.
