@tim ground side up should be default, it's even safer for falling objects that could contact exposed pins(?) from it not being plugged in all the way

I don't disagree with you, and look at how for example the UK does theirs. And they make the ground push open a little door over the live and neutral terminals too!

Does anyone actually want outlets on switches anymore? Like maybe if you have a bunch of front window outlets on a coordinated holiday circuit but just... One per room semi at random?
