Amusingly, I've been with the running club for about a year and a half, but have never actually flexed my membership (ooer) before. But I've got a 5-mile 'race' on Saturday and Trish has talked me into doing a 10-kilometre 'race' (Bromley Midsummer Evening) aswell in 2 weeks time. I'm therefore signing up to these events using my England Athletics membership, where I am registered as a 'Competitive Athlete'. This tickles me so much and if you met me irl I am NOT an athlete. A neighbours kid offered to help me with my shopping on the way home from the supermarket recently. If I'm honest I am absolutely bricking it about both of these events because they're a bit at the top end of what I'm currently capable of. I've done an 8k a couple of times so hoping I'll be alright on the first one (which is also a beer run, so I'm assuming the point is to have a laugh). But it will be the first time I've ever done a proper 10k (and I don't want to let Trish down). So I'm going into health lockdown for the next two weeks. Good choices only!
